Montreal, QC – 41 CENTURY 21 Sales Professionals in Montreal have taken up the call to do something extraordinary in support of children with disabilities. These brave individuals will join other “superheroes” in this year’s Easter Seals Drop Zone and rappel down an office building in Montreal’s financial district.

On September 20, Drop Zone participants will gather at 1010 Sherbrooke West to make their way down the side of this 26 storey building. “Going over the edge was the hardest part for me in Regina last year. The rest wasn’t so bad,” comments CENTURY 21 Canada President, Don Lawby when asked if he had any advice for the 41 CENTURY 21 “superheroes”.

“The CENTURY 21 support for the Easter Seals Drop Zone in Quebec shows incredible community spirit,” says Max Beck, Chief Executive Officer of Easter Seals Canada. “The Drop Zone is a challenging event, but 40 plus CENTURY 21 participants are up to the challenge and in the process, they will raise well over $60,000 in support of Easter Seals. This will make September 20th a very special day for children with disabilities.”

“If we can all do a little to raise awareness for Easter Seals and for children with disabilities then we can really make a difference,” says Lawby. “Facing my fear of heights last year at Drop Zone in Regina was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but it was also one the most rewarding.”

The annual Drop Zone events allow people to have a unique experience while raising funds that enable children with disabilities to have access to programs that help enrich their lives within their communities. All the funds raised during Drop Zone in Montreal will go to the Quebec Society of Disabled Children, a not-for-profit organization that runs Easter Seals programs all over Quebec, including Camp Papillon, a fully accessible summer camp.

“We are thrilled to see a groundswell of support from the CENTURY 21 System in support of the Easter Seals Drop Zone in Montreal,” says Ron Davidson, Executive Director of the Quebec Society for Disabled Children. The money raised from the CENTURY 21 team and everyone else involved in the event will greatly benefit the inclusive programming offered at Camp Papillon for children living with disabilities across the province of Quebec.”

Easter Seals Drop Zone events are taking place in 15 Canadian cities this year. An important focus for owners, Alain Roy and Abija Gagné is the satisfaction of their customers. On August 16, Black will join other “Superheroes” and rappel down 17 stories at the RBC Building at 220 Portage Avenue in Winnipeg. Each Drop Zone participant must raise a minimum of $1500 in order to make it over the edge. All proceeds raised will stay in Manitoba and go towards supporting and sustaining vital Easter Seals programs and services. These programs are managed by the Society of Manitobans with Disabilities, an organization that reaches over 47,000 children, youth, and adults with disabilities in Manitoba.

By participating in Drop Zone, Black hopes he can inspire his team and others to get involved in a worthy cause like Easter Seals. When asked why he decided to participate, Black said, “If I could do something special to help raise awareness and inspire others to support a great cause then I’m all for it.”
